Subira – Swahili meaning ‘Patience’
ORIGINAL NOT FOR SALE - PRINTS AVAILABLE
Subira is a significant name for this Elephant. He has taught me a little more about myself. Subira is my first oil painting and has shown me that time spent wisely and slowly can result in something of value. These enormous wild animals are powerful and strong, and they are truly family creatures. Good families take time to become great through strength, wisdom and patience. To rush this painting would not have been worth it and it was a great experience to paint a creature so graceful and gentle, yet powerful, strong and formidable. For me, learning the art of patience as I paint, has been therapy to my rushing soul. Subira made me slow down and appreciate the journey of creating.
